County B XC 27-Oct-2019

The County B XC was held in Duhallow on Sunday 27th Oct. Youghal AC had a number of athletes competing on the day in ideal conditions.


In the U9 girls competition Eabha Kennefick and Simone McMahon put in great performances.

Aine Collins led the U11 youghal girls home to finish 8th overall . She was closely followed by Niamh Murray 17th, Beth Kenneally 46th and Isabelle Daly 57th. Kathleen O Connor , Tess Cummins and Sadhb O Brien completes this strong team.

Donnacha Coleman had a super run in the U11 boys race to finish 5th overall winning an individual medal. He was followed by Quin Buckley 24th, Conor O Sullivan25th, Carthach O Laoire 39th and TADHG O Brien 43rd. Enda Terry , Adam Barry and Isaac McMahon completes this great team.

Taylor Aherne and Vivien Millerick put in fantastic performances in the U13 girls race to finish 4th and 5th respectively and win individual medals . Saorla Ni Laoire 18th , Nadine Barry 32nd and Amy Coleman 34th completed this super team which won team silver medals.

In the U13 boys race Finn Coleman led the Youghal boys to finish 8th overall , closely followed by Dylan Cairns 10th, Jack O Neill 19th and Rian O. Laoire 33rd. Their hard work payed off when they took silver team medals.

Liam O Connor and Jude Buckley has great runs in the U15 boys race to finish 4th and 6th respectively , both winning individual medals. James O Neill 8th and Alex Murphy 9th followed closely to ensure a great score to win team gold .

Jake McCarthy competed at the Autumn Open XC held in Abbotstown on Sun 20th October. He had a great run to finish 32nd overall in the junior men race.

Munster Even Age XC 20-Oct-2019

The Munster even age XC was held at Limerick racecourse on Sunday 20th October. YOUGHAL AC had a great turn out of athletes on the day with some great performances. Underfoot conditions were horrendous on the day with mud everywhere.


In the U 10 girls 1000m Clodagh Walsh finished a super 14th overall . Orla Motherway was next in 62nd position, closely followed by Ava Murphy 88t and Caoimhe Brennan 96th. Nesa Barry , Megan Spillane, Isabella Daly and Jane Ansbro completed this strong team.

Ruby Devereaux lead the U10 Youghal boys to finish a fantastic 10th overall , winning an individual Munster medal, and a gold cork team medal. Oran Coleman was 51st , followed by Paddy Kelly 73rd , Cartach O Laoire 99th and Rory Murphy 100th. Ciaran Hynes, Darragh Galloway and Shane Coffee completed this great team.

Autumn Devereaux put in a great performance in the U12 girls 2000m race to finish 15th overall , winning a cork team silver medal . Vivien Millerick finished well in 29th position ,followed by Taylor Aherne 57th and Aine Collins 95th. Katie Ates , Doireann Barry and Tess Cummins completed this great team. Donnacha Coleman , Quin Buckley and Conor o Sullivan put in strong performances in the U12 boys race.

In the U14 girls 3000m Emily Brenner had a fantastic run to finish 7th overall, winning an individual Munster medal and a gold cork team medal. Sorcha Kilgannon also had a super run to finish 14th overall. Katie O Neill followed in 33rd position ,with Izabella Chidlow finishing 55th. Katie Ansbro, Saorla Ni Laoire and Alise Barry completed this great team.  Jude Buckley 47th  and Rian O Laoire competed well in the U14 boys race.

Emma Landers had an outstanding run to win comfortably and take the Munster U16 girls  title . Avril Millerick also had a super run to finish 2nd overall  followed closely by the Cashman girls , Avril 8th and Alex 10th . All 4  winning individual Munster medals and scoring for their county,  to win Cork team  gold medals. Robyn Buckley , Eva Murphy , Erin Joyce and Natasha Kilgannon completed this super team which won team gold too.

James O Neill competed well in the U16 boys 4000m race and Connor O Neill competed well in the U18 boys race.

In the U18 girls 4000m race Lucy O Keeffe had a fantastic run to finish 4th overall winning an individual Munster medal in addition to a gold cork team medal.

Well done to all who competed. Congrats to the 5 individuals (Autumn, Emily, Sorcha, Lucy and Connor ) and also the U16 team (Emma, Avril M, Avril C, Alex , Robyn and Eva) who qualified for the National XC to be held in Abbotstown in November.

The uneven age county XC was held in West Muskerry on Sunday 13th October. YOUGHAL Ac has a number of athletes competing on the day.


Ava Murphy and Neasa Barry competed in the 1st race of the day, the U9 girls 750m and they finished 24th and 34th respectively. Paddy Kelly 12th, Darragh Galloway 21st , Rory Murphy 25th and Thomas Starkey 32nd competed in the U9boys race and the team finished 4th overall.

Clodagh Walsh had a great run in the U11 girls 1500m race to finish 11th overall. She was followed closely by Aine Collins 36th, Niamh Murray 58th and Orla Motherway 59th. Molly O Brien, Doireann Barry, Lauren O Brien, Lauren Keating and Tess Cummins completed this team.

Donnacha Coleman 11th led the U11 YOUGHAL boys . He was followed closely by Ruby Devereaux 22nd , Quin Buckley 42nd and Conor O Sullivan 51st. TADHG OBrien, Leo Nicholson, Vladimir Boutenko 74th, Enda Terry, Adam Barry, Ciaran Hynes and Rory Walsh completed this team.

Katie O Neill had a super run in the U13 girls 2500m race to finish 6th overall and win an individual county medal. She was followed closely by Autumn Devereaux 16th , Vivien Millerick 22nd and Taylor Aherne 32nd. Saorla Ni Laoire and Nadine Barry completed this team which finished 4th.

In the U13 boys race, Dylan Cairns finished 19th and Rion O Laoire 43rd. In the I15 boys race Jude Buckley finished 19th and James O Neill 28th.

Avril Millerick had a fantastic run in the U15 girls 3500m race to finish 3rd overall and win an individual county medal. She was closely followed by Emily Brenner 8th , Alex Cashman 13th and Sorcha Kilgannon 15th. Izabella Chidlow, Ailise Barry and Grace Rooney completed this super team which took bronze.

Emma Landers took the county title in the U17 girls race . Erin Joyce 10th , Eva Murphy 10th  and Natasha Kilgannon 28th completed this super team which took gold. Ciaran McNamee finished 7th in the U17 boys race . While Connor O Neill won the U19 boys race.

The evenage County XC championship was held in Liscarroll on Sun 6th Oct. YOUGHAL AC had many athletes competing on the day.


Our U10 girls started the day with some great runs by Clodagh Walsh 8th , Orla Motherway 8th, Neasa Barry 51st and Ava Murphy 57th.

Ruby Devereaux had a super run to finish 6th overall and win an individual medal. He also led his team of Oran Coleman 18th, Ciaran Hynes 31st, Paddy Kelly 46th, Rory Murphy 56th and Shane Coffee 60th  to team bronze medals.

Autumn Devereaux led the YOUGHAL U14 girls on the 2000m route to finish 12th overall. Vivien Millerick 17th followed closely , with Aine Collins 33rd and Niamh Murray 73rd. Lauren O Brien, Amy Coleman, Molly O Brien and Tess Cummins completed this great team.

In the U12 boys 2000m Finn Coleman finished 18th closely followed by Donnacha Coleman 38th, Jack O Neill 41s and Conor O Sullivan 47th . Leo Nicholson, Quin Buckley and Rory Walsh completed this great team.

Emily Brenner had an outstanding performance in the U14girls 3000m race to finish 5th overall and win an individual county medal. Sorcha Kilgannon followed closely in 7th position ,with Katie O Neill 10th . Izabella Chidlow finished 17th , followed by Ailise Barry 21st and Katie Ansbro 28th. These super runs secured bronze for this fantastic team.

Jude Buckley had a great run in the U14 boys race to finish 13th overall. Dylan Cairns followed in 22nd position.

Emma Landers led the YOUGHAL U16 girls team home to finish 2nd overall , closely followed by Avril Millerick 3rd and Avril Cashman 6th . All 3 girls winning individual medals. Alex Cashman was next in 9th position , followed by Eva Murphy 19th and Robyn Buckley 20th. Erin Joyce and Natasha Kilgannon completed this super team which took team gold.

Lucy O Keeffe had a super run in the U18and junior girls races to lead the field over the 4000m course and take both titles. 

Ciaran McNamee and Jake McCarthy  had to retired due to injury in the U18 and junior boys races.

Spikes were dusted off for the East Cork championships which marked the start of the XC season. It took place in Castlelyons on Sunday  29th sept. YOUGHAL AC had many athletes competing on the day with some outstanding performances.


Clodagh Walsh had a super run in the U10 girls 1000m to take individual bronze. Orla Motherway and Ava Murphy followed in 11th and 12th positions respectively. Neasa Barry and Jane Ansbro completed this fantastic team which took  team bronze.

Ruby Devereaux led the U10 boys team with a great performance to take bronze. He was followed closely by Oran Coleman 7th , Ciaran Hynes 10th and Paddy Kelly 17th. Isaac McMahon, SHANE Coffey, Rory Murphy and Darragh Galloway completed this super team which took gold.

In the U12 girls 1500m Autumn Devereaux put in a super performance to take individual bronze. She was closely followed by Vivien Millerick 6th , Taylor Aherne 8th and Anne Collins 11th. Lauren O Brien, Niamh Murray, Molly O Brien, Amy Coleman, Doireann Barry, Tess Cummins and Abby Lee completed this fantastic team which took gold.

In the U12 boys race, Jack O Neill 15th led the Youghal boys team. He was closely followed by TADHG O Brien 16th, Conor O Sullivan 17th, and Vladimir Boutenko 19th. Quin Buckley , Enda Terry and Rory Walsh.

Emily Brenner had an outstanding performance in the U14 girls 2000m to take individual silver. She was closely followed by Sorcha Kilgannon 4th, Katie ONeill 5th , Izabella Chidlow 8th and Katie Ansbro 10th. These girls secured team silver.

Jude Buckley had a super run in the U 14 boys race to finish 4th overall. He was followed by Dylan Cairns 9th and Alex Murphy.

In the U 16 girls race Avril Millerick took individual silver closely followed by Avril Cashman individual bronze , Emma Landers 4th , Alex Cashman 5th . Robyn Buckley8th , Eva Murphy and Natasha Kilgannon completed this super team which took gold.

James O Neill had a super run in the U16 boys race. Lucy O Keeffe took gold in the U18 girls race. Ciaran McNamee took silver in the U18boys race.
