County Juvenile Relay and B Track and Field Championships - 25th May 2014

COUNTY JUVENILE RELAY AND B TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS
 
 
Congratulations to the Girls U10 team who had a very good run to win the County Relay Championship. The team included Grace Rooney, Sophie Connon, Tara Hickey, Aril Cashman and Alex Cashman. They now go on to compete in the Munster Championships in Ennis on 7th June. Well done also to the Boys U11 team which came 5th in the heat; the team included Michael Wall, Christian Millerick, Dylan Bennett and Sean O’ Connor. Well done also to the Girls U/ 11 team which came 5th in the final; thIs team included Avril Cashman, Emma Landers, Eva Murphy, Rion Walsh and Robyn Buckley. Other relay teams included U9 Girls team which came 4th in the final; the team included Erin Barrett, Poppy Devereaux, Aoibhe Daly and Aileen O’ Hallahan. The U13 Girls team included Lucy O’ Keefe. Kerrie Barrett, Leslie Cashman and Aoibhe Walsh; this team came 8th in the final. Well done to al team who qualifed for the relay finals as competition was very high.
 
There were many superb performances in the County B Championship. In the U9 age group Erin Barrett came 2nd in the Long Jump 2.98m and Ben Walsh came 2nd in the 300m 58.23. Poppy Devereaux won the Turbo Javelin 7.20m. In the U10 age group Alex Cashman was 2nd in the 500m 1.46.78 and Tara Hickey was 3rd 1.47.84. Eoghan Rooney was 2nd in the Turbo javelin 6.64m. In the U11 age group Avril Cashman had a good win in the Shot 5.07m. Sean O’ Connor likewise had a good win in the Long Jump 3.56m and 3rd in the sprint. Christian Millerick who is showing potential as a sprinter won the U11 sprint 9.19. Great running was witnessed in the G/11 600 with Eva Murphy winning in 2.02.36 and Emma Landers in 3rd place 2.04.61; Rion Walsh was also well up in the field. Lucy O’ Keefe won well in the G/13 600m 1.54.40. Tom Wall was 2nd in the B/13 600m 2.00.22 and also did well in the High Jump coming 3rd 1.32m. Aoibhe Walsh came 4th in the g/13 sprint final. These were excellent results and well done to athletes, coaches and parents. A special well done to Gillian Wall who put in so much effort in compiling relay entries and County B entries.
