The National B XC championship was held in Clarinbridge , Galway on Sunday 11th February. Conditions were horrendous on the day ,with several snow showers keeping everyone very cool . Underfoot conditions we worse with sticky mud claiming plenty of spikes on the day. The U11 girls were up first , with Autumn Devereaux leading the Youghal team home . Autumn finished 33rd winning a gold Cork team medal. Vivien Millerick was next ,followed by Clodagh Fitzgerald and Taylor Aherne. Avril Millerick had a fantastic run in the U13 girls race to finish 8th overall, winning an individual medal and a silver Cork team medal. Poppi Devereaux , Katie Ansbro and Ciara Wood completed the team. Charlie O Neill had a great run in the U13 boys race to finish 33rd overall. Ciaran McNamee had a super run in the U15 boys race to finish 6th overall , winning an individual medal in addition to a gold Cork team medal. Well done to all who competed in such difficult conditions. |
