All Ireland Track and Field Schools Championships
The club had 7 athletes in action in Tullamore on 2nd June on behalf of their schools; these had already qualified by coming in medal positions at both the East/South Munsters and Munster School Championships.  Well done to Lauren O' Mahoney who won her first All Ireland schools medal when she came 3rd in the Intermediate Javelin and also achieved a PB 28.39m.  Patricia Curtin was unlucky to finish 4th in the Senior Javelin but has suffering an arm injury.  Cian Green did well in the Intermediate 100m finishing 6th in a high calibre field.  Fearghal Curtin ran well in the Junior 1500m finishing 7th and achieving a PB OF 4.28.  Newcomer Lydia Blanc had a great day at the Junior Triple Jump to come 5th and also to achieve a PB.  Lee Curley also competed well at the Pole Vault but was also unlucky on this occasion.  Well done to all those athletes for training so hard and for achieving All Ireland qualification which doesn't come easy. Munster U/9 to U/13 Championships
The Munster U/9 to U/13 Championships were held at CIT on 9th and 10th June.  Well done to all our athletes and especially to those who competed at their first Munster Championships. The club had two entries in the pairings U/9 to U/11.  Kerrie Barrett and Lucy O' Keefe did very well in the 2 x 600m.  Kerrie won her heat in a time of 1.56.90 and Lucy was 4th in her heat in a time of 2.02.28.  Their combined time of 3.59.18 earned them 2nd place and qualification to the All Irelands on 23rd June.  They also competed at the Long Jump where they came 8th. Ross Williams and David Buckley competed in the U/9 2 x 60m and Long Jump.  They came 9th in the Long Jump which was a good result; Ross jumped 2.41m and David Jumped 2.99m.
Matthew Cody had a great run in the U/12 600m; he ran a smart race and finished very well to win the Munster title.  Jake McCarthy also impressed in this 600m to finish in a very good 6th place. Matthew has qualified for the All Ireland 600m in July.

Sam McSweeney had a very good Championship to finish 5th in the Long Jump in a huge field with his best jump of 4.09m.  He finished 4th in the High Jump clearing 1.25m; this enables him to qualify for the All Irelands in July.  Peter Buckley competed well in the 60m and High Jump. Ryan McCarthy did very well in the U/12 Ball Throw to finish 6th with his best throw of 32.44m.  He also competed in the 60m and High Jump.  Ben Ingamellis competed well in the Shot and Ball Throw.  The u/12 lads came 7th in the 4 x 100m relay final; the team included Peter Buckley, Ben Ingamellis, Ryan McCarthy and Sam McSweeney.
