Hello to all from Youghal AC. There have been many races on for the past few weeks with numerous Youghal athletes competing. The highlight of the past month has to be the Emer Casey 10k where we had a huge turnout of Youghal athletes plus the largest amount of runners in the event to date. The atmosphere and conditions were excellent, although it was very warm running up the main street when we turned the breeze we faced for the last 1.5 miles was welcome. Well done to all the ladies and men in the club who completed their first 10k, a great achievement.
Well done to all who have been prize winners in the recent races the club is certainly picking up lots of good publicity. New jerseys are also available from Rickki and anyone looking for club tracksuits contacts either Mossie Cahill, Frank Morrision or George Bulman.
I found this quote and thought it summed up why we mad people keep on running: "In running, it doesn't matter whether you come in first, in the middle of the pack, or last. You can say, 'I have finished.' There is a lot of satisfaction in that." -Fred Lebow, New York City Marathon co-founder By the time this is printed the Cork City marathon will be over, hope you all achieved your goals.
