  • National Uneven Age XC Championship 17-Dec-2017 The National uneven age XC championship was held in WIT on Sunday 17th December. YOUGHAL  AC had 11 athletes competing on the day. It was the fine, unseasonally warm weather combined with fairly sticky underfoot conditions  that made this tough undulating course more difficult.Alex Cashman was our first athlete to compete in the U13 Girls 2500m race. She had a fantastic run to finish 31st overall and win a silver Cork medal.Our U15 Girls were up next and Emma Landers had a super run to finish 3rd overall winning an individual bronze national medal .   • East Cork XC 10-Dec-2017 The East Cork Xc was held  on Sunday 10th December in Watergrasshill on a wet wintery morning. Despite the rain and cold Youghal Ac had a number of athletes competing.Aine Collins had a great run in the U9 girls 750m course to take bronze . Niamh Murray was next home closely followed by Kate Finn and Lauren Keating. These girls put in super performances to take team gold.The U9boys took team bronze. They were led home by Donnacha Coleman 4th. Followed by Leo Nicholson , Enda Terry and Eoin Gleeson.   • Munster B XC Championships 03-Dec-2017 The Munster B XC championship was held in Beaufort on Sunday 3rd December. The ground conditions were relatively good despite the  dull ,damp weather .Youghal AC had 14 athletes competing , with some fantastic performances on the day.Aine Collins got the day off to a brilliant start in the U9 girls race finishing 10th overall to win an individual Munster B medal . She also scored for the winning Cork team. Niamh Murray had a super run too.Donnacha Coleman took individual silver in the U 9 boys race and also won a gold Cork team medal.   • Waterford Half Marathon 02-Dec-2017 Youghal Ac had 39 athletes at the start line this morning for the Waterford AC Half Marathon, the conditions were perfect this year. We had 2individual category winners and also several PB's were achieved.   • National Even Age Cross Country Championships 26-Nov-2017 The National EVENAGE XC championship was held in Abbotstown ,Dublin on Sunday 26th November. Despite the cold weather, underfoot conditions were relatively good with just a few muddy patches throughout the course. YOUGHAL AC  had 14 athletes competing on the day with all putting in super performances.Sorcha Kilgannon was the first YOUGHAL athlete to set out on 2 laps of the 1k course in the U12 girls race. She had a fantastic run to finish 18th overall , winning a gold County team medal and a silver Munster team medal.Our U 14 girls team were up next in the 3k race.   • Munster Masters Cross Country Championships 19-Nov-2017 Gold for Youghal ladies team in Munster Masters!The conditions under foot were far from ideal, with the last few days rainmaking the muck very sticky and deep under foot.Michelle Nolan (5th) led the Youghal Ladies home to victory in a fantasticperformance followed by Ruth Mellerick (6th) Ann Marie Holland (7th) ,Evelyn Cashman (11th)  and Celia O Regan.Michelle has been having a great season and hopes to continue her excellentperformance in next month's Half Marathon in Waterford.Michelle also won individual Gold in O45, Ruth silver in O35, Evelyn 3rd O45Michelle, Ruth and Ann Marie were also on the winning Cork Team.The men's race saw Warren Terry, Ed Nicholson, Tom Barry ...

  • Munster Unevenage XC 12-Nov-2017 The Munster unevenage XC was held on Sunday 12th November in Galbally , Co. Tipperary. The overnight rain had left the ground fairly wet and mucky but the tough conditions didn’t hinder the performances of the YOUGHAL AC athletes.Our U9 girls started the days races with super performances by Niamh Murray and Aine Collins who finished 46th and 75th respectively.Donnacha Coleman led the U9boys team home  with a great run to finish 26th overall.   • County XC Relays 05-Nov-2017 The County XC relays were held in Riverstick on Sunday 5th November in relatively good conditions. The U10 girls were up first with Carolina taking  the first 250m leg and getting the Youghal girls off to a great start. Autumn was next and had a great run to pass the baton on to Niamh who had a superb run . Taylor took the last , tough ,uphill leg and brought the team home in 4th position.The U10 boys were next and Matthew got the boys off to a great start.   • Cork Master Cross Country Riverstick 05-Nov-2017 Cork Master Cross Country Riverstick 5  November 2017 On a glorious Autumn day we had a large Youghal crew turn out for the Cork Masters Cross Country race. First up were the ladies Celia O Regan, Ricky Devereaux, Niamh O Regan, Ann Marie Holland, Ruth Mellerick, Evelyn Cashman and Michelle Nolan.  Conditions under foot were okay with only a few soft patches.Ann Marie, Ruth, Michelle and Evelyn ran together during the race followed by Niamh, Celia and Ricky to take top honours in the Team prize, plus there were several individual medals.  Special mention to Celia who took silver in the over 50 category. The Youghal Men turned up in huge numbers again with Steve Devereaux, Ed O Regan ...

  • AUTUMN CROSS COUNTRY - NATIONAL SPORTS COMPLEX On a beautiful sunny day in Dublin we had 3 Youghal Athletes competing inthis Cross County race which also doubled up for entry into the IrishMasters Championships in Derry in November.First 5 per age category go through to represent Ireland. First 3 aredefinite and last 2 are reserves.First up was the Ladies race 6000m -  4 laps on a near perfect course, withonly  3 pulls.Ann Marie Holland was first home in a time of 24.26 (10th Over 40)Michelle Nolan 24.49 (6th over45)Next was the mens race - 7500mOur only male athlete was Steven Devereaux, Steven completed the course in30.40 12th in the O50 Category.

  • Munster evenage XC 22-Oct-2017 The MUNSTER EVENAGE XC championship was held in Clarecastle on Sunday 22nd October . Following a week of horrendous weather it was no surprise that the course was extremely wet and mucky . Youghal AC had 26 athletes competing on the day and they all put in super performances despite the tough conditions.The U10 girls opened the days event with a 1000m run. Vivien Millerick led the Youghal girls home with a super run to finish 20th overall. She was followed closely by Autumn Devereaux 25th and Taylor Aherne 30th.   • INTERMEDIATE CROSS COUNTRY 15-Oct-2017 On a very wet and mucky course our Youghal athletes took to the start line. First up were the ladies, Deirdre Ansbro, Niamh O Regan and Ricky Devereaux. It was a very competitive race but our ladies all put in great performance. The men’s team were Nigel Sheehan, Warren Terry, Ed Nicholson, Steve Devereaux, Paul Curley, Mossy Cahill, Ed O Regan and David Kilgannon It’s great to see such a large turnout for the men’s  team. Well done to everyone who competed today even if the weather was shocking!

  • Munster School combined events 11-Oct-2017 The Munster schools indoor combined events was held in Nenagh on Wednesday 11th October. Kerry Barrett was the only Youghal athlete to compete and represented Pobal Scoil na Trionoide . She had a fantastic competition to win bronze and qualify for the National competition to be held later this month

  • County B XC Championship 15-Oct-2017 The County B XC championship was held on Sunday 15th October , on a wet , muddy course in Carrignavar . The tough conditions however didn't dampen the spirits of the Youghal athletes who performed well on the day.Our U9 girls got things off to a great start with Aine Collins leading the Youghal girl home with a super run to finish 6th and win an individual medal. Kate Rose Finn followed closely in 8th position , with Niamh Murray 13th , Rosie O Donovan 28th and Lauren Keating 29th.   • Cork Athletics Senior Cross Country 08-Oct-2017 Numbers were down for the ladies Senior race with only 13 competing.  Ruth Mellerick was our only lady competing today and put in a great performance to finish in a time of 25.47 for 6km.Our men’s team are running very strong all season, well done to Tom Barry first Youghal man home followed by Ed Nicholson,  Ed O Regan, Brian Landers and Ian Murphy. Next race is Cork Athletics Intermediate in Glenville October 15th.   • Cork Juvenile Cross Country Uneven Ages 08-Oct-2017 The uneven age XC was held in Conna on Sunday 8th October . With just a gentle breeze and good underfoot conditions , the course proved challenging but fast.   The juvenile races began with our U9 girls taking to the 750m loop. Kate Rose Finn led the youghal girls to finish 16th overall . With super runs also by Aine Collins 22nd and Niamh Murray 26th . Unfortunately they were one scorer short for a team.  The U9 boys were up next and Matthew Murray 11th, led the Youghal boys, followed by a close bunch of Tadgh O Brien 20th , Darragh Murray 22nd and Donnacha Coleman 23rd.   • Cork Athletics Novice Cross Country 01-Oct-2017 On a beautiful dry morning we had both Male and female teams competing for Youghal AC . Conditions were not ideal with very mucky conditions underfoot.First up were the Ladies, the team consisted of  Deirdre Ansbro, Ricky Deveraux, Dei Cliffe and Celia Ahern.   • Cork Mini Marathon As always, there was a huge turnout for the annual Evening Echo Women's mini-marathon with just over 6100 finishers. The junior race was won by Erin Joyce of Youghal Ac followed by Erin Barrett also of Youghal AC. Well done to Geraldine Curtin, Therese Barrett and Sandra Ryan who had been training hard for this race – well done ladies.

  • Race Reports Results of the East Cork Cross Country Championships...Sun 17th Sept 2017IMOLILLY OIL/EAST CORK DIVISION CROSS-COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS, BALLYNOE On a beautiful dry September morning the Cross Country season started again!   • East Cork XC Even Age 17-Sep-2017 The spikes were found , the winter woolies take out (and then discarded) and the sat nav set to find a field in Ballynoe- yes , cross country season has begun.        The sun was shining when our U10 girls started proceedings for the East cork XC championship in Ballynoe. Vivien Millerick led the team with an outstanding run to finish 2nd overall . Taylor Aherne battled hard all the way to the line to finish joint 3rd. She was closely followed by Autumn Devereaux 5th and Niamh Murray 18th .   • NOTICE BRITISH AND IRISH MASTER CROSS COUNTRY The British & Irish Masters XC Championships will be hosted by Northern Ireland Masters on Saturday 18th  Nov. in Derry. Trial race will take place in conjunction with the AAI Autumn CC in Abbottstown on Sunday 22nd Oct This is open to all master athletes.  Selection policy remains the same as previous years, where Teams comprise of 4 Athletes, i.e. F35 through to F70 plus M55 through to M75, first 3 Athletes across the line, will be selected.
