On a very warm and humid day we had 4 athletes in the Full Marathon and 14 in the half.
Great performance all round by everyone. Results below. Photos on running in cork.

Munster U9-13 T&F 02/03-Jun-2018

The Munster U9-U13 T& F championship was held in Ennis Track on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd June. Youghal Ac had 7 athletes competing over the two days.

In the U9 girls competition Clodagh Walsh had a super throw in the turbo javelin to finish 5th overall. She also competed well in the 300m.

Autumn Devereaux competed in the U11 girls sprints and 500m. She also performed well in the  turbo javelin and long jump.

Poppy Devereaux qualified for the U13 girls sprint hurdles where she finished 7th overall. She also finished 7th in the shot and 9th in the high jump. Eireann  Barrett finished 6th in the javelin and also competed well in the shot.  Sorcha Kilgannon had a super 1.35m jump in the high jump to finish joint 4th overall. Ruby Kennedy competed well in the javelin. These 4girls did the 4x 100m relay and finished 6th overall.

Ben Walsh was in top form at the weekend, winning gold in the shot with brilliant 13.6m throw and  bronze in the javelin with a 28.46m throw. He also competed in the 500m and long jump , where he finished 5th and 7th respectively.

All Ireland Schools T&F 02-Jun-2018

The All Ireland schools T& F championship was held in Tullamore on Saturday 2nd June. YOUGHAL Ac had 5athletes competing representing Pobal Scoil  na  Trionoide and St. Mary’s Midleton.

In the Minor girls competition Grace Rooney had a super run to take the 100m sprInt title in 12.31 sec. Alex Cashman competed in the junior girls 1200m walk finishing 8th overall. Emma Landers had a fantastic run in the junior girls 1500m , finishing 5th in a very competitive field , with a PB of 4.55 min.

Tirna Cahill took silver in the Intermediate girls hammer with a super 49.09m throw.

Lucy O Keeffe was outstanding in the U16 girls mile and took gold  in 5.13 min.

The County Relay championships were held in CIT on Sunday 27th May. 

YOUGHAL Ac had a number of teams competing on the day. 

Tess Cummins, Niamh Murray, Lauren O Brien and Doireann Barry competed well in the U10 girls competition. Quin Buckley, Finn Coleman, Leo Nicholson and Ruby Devereaux had great runs in the U10boys event. 

Niamh Murray got the U11 girls off to a great start, with Autumn Devereaux, Vivien Millerick and Taylor Aherne all putting in super performances. Finn Connaughtan , Jimmy Nicholson, Finn Coleman and Harry Fitzgerald all competed well in the U11 boys competition. 

In the U12 girls competition Taylor Aherne, Clodagh Fitzgerald, Ella Finn and Autumn Devereaux had super runs to  qualify for final. Dylan Cairns , Finn Connaughtan, Jimmy Nicholson and Paddy Nicholson also competed well in the U12 boys event.

We had 2  YOUGHAL teams in the U13 girls event. Katie Ansbro, Ella Finn, Izabella Chidlow and Alisa Barry competed in the 1st heat . Emily Brenner , Poppi Devereaux Sorcha Kilgannon and Ruby Devereaux competed in the 2nd heat and qualified for the final.  Ronin Joyce, Jude Buckley, Dylan Cairns and Harry Fitzgerald competed well in the U13 boys event to finish 5th overall.

Our U14 girls qualified for the final where Sophie Connon, Avril Millerick, Alex Cashman and Grace Rooney had fantastic runs to take home silver medals and qualify for the National relays.

Natasha Kilgannon, Eva Murphy, Avril Cashman and Emma Landers had great runs in the U15 girls event to finish 5th.

County B T & F Championship 27-May-2018

The County B T & F championship was held in CIT on Sunday 27th May. 

YOUGHAL AC had 15 athletes competing on the day. 

In the U9 girls events Caoimhe Brennan finished 4th in the sprints and 5th in the long jump. Clodagh Walsh competed well in the 300m and turbo javelin. Ruby Devereaux competed in the U9 boys 300m and long jump.

Lauren O Brien took bronze in the  U10 girls turbo javelin and also competed in the sprints. Lauren Keating and Niamh Murray competed well in the 500m and sprints. Doireann Barry also competed in the 500m and had a super 3.01 m jump in the long jump. Quin Buckley competed well in the U10 boys sprints and 500m.

Our U11 girls had super performances in the 600m with Taylor Aherne taking gold. Vivien Millerick finished 4th and Autumn Devereaux 5th. Autumn took bronze in the shot . Taylor and Vivien also competed well In the long jump. 

Clodagh Fitzgerald finished 4th in the U12 girls sprints and also competed well in the shot. Ella Finn had a great  3.3m jump in the long jump.  Dylan Cairns competed well in the U12 boys 600m and long jump. 

Alisa Barry had great runs  in the U13 girls 600m and sprints.

The NATIONAL COMBINED EVENTS were held in Dublin on Sat 26th and Sunday 27th May. 

Kerry Barrett competed in the youth junior heptathlon. She competed well Day 1 in the sprint hurdles, high jump , shot and 200m and went into Day 2 in 4th position. With a good long jump , a 2nd in the javelin and a super win in the 800m she improved her position to take National bronze. 

County Combined Events 20-May-2018

The County combined events were held in CIT on Sunday 20th May. YOUGHAL Ac had 9 athletes  competing on the day. 

In the U11 girls competition Taylor Aherne finished 4th and Autumn Devereaux 5th . Autumn won the shot. 

In the U11 boys competition Cathal Brennan finished 6th overall. Dylan Cairns, having won the long jump , finished 4th overall with Fionn Brennan 6th in the U12 boys competition. 

Poppi Devereaux took silver in the U13 girls event with Sorcha Kilgannon finishing 4th overall having won the high jump. 

Jude Buckley finished 6th in the U13 boys event. 

In the U14 girls competition Grace Rooney won the hurdles and long jump and finished 2nd in the high jump and shot to take silver overall.

The MUNSTER  SCHOOLS T& F was held in Castleisland on Saturday 19th May . YOUGHAL Ac had a number of athletes competing on the day representing their schools. 

In the Minor Girls competition Grace Rooney had a super day winning the 100m sprints in 12.55 sec. Avril Millerick and Erin Joyce competed in the 800m and finished 5th and 7th respectively. Grace and Avril were also members of the St Mary’s Midleton relay team that took bronze. 

Emma Landers has a fantastic run in the junior girls 1500m and took bronze in 5.02 min. Avril Cashman finished 6th in 5.10 sec. Alex Cashman took bronze in the junior girls 1.2k walk.

Conor O Leary took bronze in the junior boys high jump with a very good 1.55 m jump. 

In the Intermediate girls competition Tirna Cahill took gold in the hammer with a record 50.34m throw. Lesley Cashman came 4th in the 1500m steeplechase. Kerry Barrett was 5th in the triple jump. 

Conor O Neill finished 4th in the Intermediate boys 3000m . Liam O Leary was 6th in the Intermediate boys high jump.

Jake McCarthy finished 4th in the senior boys 1500m

In the U16 mile Lucy O Keeffe had a brilliant run to finished 2nd in the girls competition  in 5.22sec while Ciaran McNamee competed in the boys competition. 

Well done to all who competed and congrats to Grace, Avril, Emma , Alex, Conor, Tirna and Lucy on qualifying for the National Schools competition. 

Cork County Masters 20-May-2018

Well done to Geraldine Curtin, Ricky Devereaux, Ron Barrett, Evelyn Cashman, Maurice Fitzgerald, Colin Brennan and David Kilgannon on their recent success on the Track,

Geraldine and Ricky competed Shot and Javelin Ricky also competed in the Hammer , Evelyn in the 800 and 1500m , Maurice 200m Sprint, Javelin, Hammer  and Discuss, Ron competed in Long Jump, David competed in the sprint events and also the Long Jump, Colin competed in the Sprint Track Events
