Cian Greene 2nd in All Ireland Indoor U/17 60m Sprint at Nenagh

The club had three athletes in action at the All Ireland Indoor Championships on 23rd March last. Cian Greene had a good win in his heat in the 60m in a time of 7.34 to qualify for the final. His younger clubmate Sean Broderick finished a close third in the heat of the U/14 60m heat in a time of 8.23 to secure his place in the final which was his first time in such a final. Cian sprinted very well in the final and better hid time coming in an excellent second in a time of 7.27sec. Sean also did very well finishing 6th in the final in a time of 8.30sec. This was an excellent result for both sprinters and great to see two finalists from Youghal AC. Lauren O' Mahoney also did very well in the Shot Putt in the U/16 competition finishing in the top eight with her best throw of 8.39m

All Ireland Schools competitions - Fearghal Curtin wins All Ireland Schools Minor Cross Country title and Killian Nolan wins 5th Class All Ireland Orienteering title.

March was a busy month in the Cross Country and Orienteering calendar for Youghal AC athletes participating for their schools. Fearghal Curtin had a great run at the Aviva All Ireland Schools Cross Country Championships at St.Mary's College in Galway on 10th March to win the Minor Boy's title. He also led his team to win the team championship title for Midleton CBS. This was a great end to Fearghal's cross country season. It was Killian's first All Ireland title and his school also did well. Sean Broderick competed for Midleton CBS in the first year All Ireland Orienteering competition and finished in an excellent 11th position with his Midleton CBS team finishing in 2nd place.
