Youghal AC athletes win 11 medals at the County B Track and Field Championships

Youghal AC athletes did very well at the County B Championships at the CIT on Sunday 22nd May. Killian Nolan had a very strong run throughout the B/13 700m to win well in a time of 2.16.67; Rory Donnellan put in a great performance in his first track race and was just barely outside the medal position in 4th. Jake McCarthy also had a very good win in the B/12 700m race in a time if 2.22.94. Aine O' Regan came 3rd in the G/13 700 race with Karynn Collins in 4th. Faith McEvitt finished well in 2nd place in a time of 2.29.34 in the G/12 700m. David Buckley was 2nd in the B/9 200m and was just pipped on the line for first place. Michael Wall also competed very well. Eoin O' Brien was 3rd in the B/13 80m in a time of 12.44s. Faith McEvitt and Karynn Collins were unlucky to be just outside medal positions in their sprints in which there were heats because of the big numbers. Hazel Nolan competed well in the G/10 300m and sprint. Luke and Adam O' Brien also did well in their B/11 sprints and Long Jump. Darragh Buckley competed well in the B/11 500m and sprint.

The club also did well in the High Jump, Long Jump and Shot. Aine O' Regan came 3rd in the High Jump 1.20m; Ben Donovan had a good win in the B/13 with his best jump of 1.30m. Ben Ingamelllis did very well in the B/12 Shot to come 2nd with his best throw of 6.35m. James Wall also competed in the B/13 Shot and was unlucky to finish 4th. Eoin O' Brien had two breaks in his first two long jumps but nevertheless produced a third jump of 3.76m which out him into 2nd place. Ben Donovan was 4th in the B/13 Long Jump. David Buckley came 3rd in the B/9 Long Jump. Niamh O' Brien competed well in the G/11 Ball Throw and sprint. Zoe Whelan also did very well in the G/10 Ball Throw.
