Munster Schools Track and Field Championships - 17th May 2014

Congratulations to Youghal AC athletes who competed at the Munster Schools Championships at the Cit on Saturday 17th May. Killian Nolan came 3rd in the Minor Boys 800m race which was closely contested. Killian came 3rd in a time of 2.18.26 which is a PB. This finishes a very good Schools track and field season for Killian as there is no All Irelands in the Minor section. Jennifer Hennessy also fought hard to gain a top three position and finished strongly to come in third in a time of 2.28.26. Fearghal Curtin had a very good race to finish in second place in the Intermediate Boys 3,000m and breaking the 9 minute for his first time; his time was 8,55,57. Lauren O’ Mahoney won the Senior Girls javelin with her best throw of 30.77m and she came 3rd in the Shot 8.44m which is a PB. Jack Daly came 3rd 39.07m and 5th in the Shot 10.10m. Well done to all these athletes and best of luck to Jennifer, Fearghal,Lauren and Jack who will compete for their schools at the All Ireland Schools Track and Field Championships in Tullamore on 31st May next.
