East Cork Track & Field Championship Day 1 02-Apr-2017

The first day of the T&F outdoor season began with the East Cork Championship in CIT on Sunday 2nd April and Youghal AC had many athletes competing on the day.
In the sprints Doireann Barry has a super run in the U9 girls 60m final.
Matthew and Darragh Murray and Quin Buckley all qualified for the U9boys 60m final.
Autumn Devereaux , Vivien Millerick and Amy Coleman all qualified for the 10girls 60m final.
Clodagh Fitzgerald came 4th , Nadia O Shea 5th and Aoibhinn O Brien also ran in the U11girls 80m.
Erin Barrett, Poppi Devereaux and Ruby Kennedy all qualified for the U12 girls 80m final.
In the U12 boys 80m Ethan O Driscoll took bronze , with Jude Buckley a close 4th.
Grace Rooney had a super win in the U13girls 80m , with Sophie Connon 4th , Avril Millerick 6th and Alex Cashman 7th.
Eoin Rooney was 5th in the U13 boys final.
Eva Murphy took gold in the U14girls 100m , with Erin Joyce 4th and Emma Landers 5th.
Christian Millerick won bronze in the U14boys 100m.
In the middle distance Emily Barry ran well in the U9 girls 200m.
Jimmy Nicholson had a super run in the U 9 boys race to finish a strong 3rd, with Cathal Brennan 5th.
Vivien Millerick and Autumn Devereaux both qualified for the U10 girls final and finished a fantastic 5th and 6th respectively.
Clodagh Fitzgerald took bronze in the U11 girls 300m , with Nadia a close 4th and Aoibhinn also ran.
Jack Coleman , Fionn Brennan and Paddy Nicholson competed well in the U11boys 300m.
In the U12girls 600m Sorcha Kilgannon came 4th , Poppi Devereaux 8th Ruby Kennedy 9th and Alisha Barry 10th .
Ben Walsh had a super finish in the U12 boys 600m to take bronze , with Jude Buckley finishing well in 5th.
Avril Millerick took silver and Alex Cashman bronze in the U13 girls 600m , with Grace Rooney 4th and Juliette Nicholson and Roisin Reilly also finishing well.
In the U 14 girls 800m Emma Landers finished 2nd, Erin Joyce 3rd , Avril Cashman 4th , Eva Murphy 6th and Robyn Buckley 7th.
Nathan O Halloran took silver , Christian Millerick bronze and Ross Williams 4th in the U14boys 800m.
Ciaran McNamee won the U15boys 800m with Dylan Lyons taking silver.
Lucy O Keeffe finished 2nd , Kerry Barrett 4th and Lesley Cashman 5th in the U16 girls 800m. Darragh Buckley finished 4th in the U16 boys 800m .
Aine O Regan and Sarah Williams ran well in the U17 -19 girls 800m . Killian Nolan took silver in the U17-19 boys 800m.
Nathan O Halloran won the U14boys javelin . Lesley Cashman took bronze in the U16 girls javelin and Darragh Buckley also took bronze in the U16 boys javelin.
Sorcha Kilgannon won the U12 girls High jump, with Poppi Devereaux taking silver. Ben Walsh won the U12 boys HJ. Natasha Kilgannon won bronze in the U15girls HJ.
Nathan O Halloran came 2nd and Ross Williams 3rd in the U15 boys HJ.
Donnacha Coleman came 2nd in the U9 long jump. The U13 girls were outstanding in the Long jump with Grace Rooney 1st, Avril Millerick 2nd and Sorcha Kilgannon 3rd.
Avril Cashman took silver in the U15 girls discus , with Erin Joyce taking bronze.
The Relays took place at the end of a long day. The U12 girls(Poppi, Sorcha, Ruby and Eireann ) took silver. The U14 girls ( Sophie , Avril , Alex and Grace ) also took silver , as did the U16 girls ( Lesley, Natasha, Erin and Kerry) . The U12boys (Lui, Harry , Ben and Ethan ) qualified for the final and finished 4th.
