The National uneven age XC championship was held in WIT on Sunday 17th December. YOUGHAL AC had 11 athletes competing on the day. It was the fine, unseasonally warm weather combined with fairly sticky underfoot conditions that made this tough undulating course more difficult.

Alex Cashman was our first athlete to compete in the U13 Girls 2500m race. She had a fantastic run to finish 31st overall and win a silver Cork medal.

Our U15 Girls were up next and Emma Landers had a super run to finish 3rd overall winning an individual bronze national medal . Erin Joyce had a fantastic run to finish 16 th and win a Gold Regional medal with Emma on the Munster team. Avril Cashman 29 th was next home and won a silver county medal with Emma and Erin. Eva Murphy , Robyn Buckley and Natasha Kilgannon completed this super team which won Club team silver .

Lucy O Keeffe was outstanding in the U17 Girls race and finished 3th overall winning individual Bronze , gold Regional and bronze county medals . Lesley Cashman also had a great run and won a bronze country medal .

Jake McCarthy had a great run in the U17 boys race and finished 15 th overall winning a bronze county team medal.

Killian Nolan competed in the U19 boys race and unfortunately had to retire due to injury.

Well done to all who competed. More photos available at www.youghalac.com/photos
