The club had three athletes in action at the Woodies All Ireland Even ages Cross Country Championships on 25th November last. The facilities were excellent at Tattersalls in Co. Meath and it was a dry day. Nevertheless ground conditions were extremely mucky after some very heavy rainfall. The going was very tough for all athletes.

Jake McCarthy finished well up the field in the B/12 race and narrowly lost out on a Munster team medal; the Cork team were not successful on the day finishing in 6th place. Jennifer Hennessy did well for most of the U/16 race and was in the first 25 running up an age but tired in the latter stages of the race and again narrowly missed out on a Cork team medal.

Fearghal Curtin battled it out in a very big leading group of the U/16 race which broke up at the half way mark; Fearghal went into the first six where there was some very competitive running and change of positions. Fearghal finished strongly in the last 150m to come in 5th. He won a bronze individual medal, a gold Munster team medal and a gold Cork team medal. Both teams were very strong on the day. Well done to all three for their good runs in trying conditions. Fearghal was also selected for the Irish U/16 team for the Celtic International in Cardiff on 20th January on the day.
