20220220 - Race Report (Munster Juvenile Indoors)

20220220 – Munster U12, U13, U17 to U19 & Pole Vault Indoor Championships, Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th February in Nenagh Indoor Stadium.

The Munster U12, U13, U17 to U19 & Pole Vault Indoor Championships took place a the Nneagh Indoor Stadium over the weekend Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th February.

It’s a long way to Tipperary, but the journey was worthwhile for many athletes who brought Munster medals home. Well done to all who represented Youghal AC over the weekend. Results are as follows:

Grace Rooney brought home a haul of medals coming 3^rd in the U18 60m Hurdles, 3^rd in the 200m and 1^st in the 60m.

Poppi Devereaux and Sorcha Kilgannon fought it out for Gold and Silver in the U17 Pole Vault, with the former coming out on top on this occasion with a jump of 2.85m (new PB). Both girls qualifies for the All Irelands.

Jude Buckley came in 2^nd in his heat in the U17 800m, coming a fabulous 7^th overall.

Autumn Devereaux secured Silver in the U15 Pole Vault with a jump of 2.20m.

Issac McMahon came in 2^nd in his heat in the U13 60m and came 6^th in his semi-final just outside the qualifying time for the final.

Chloe McCarthy came in 3^rd in her heat in the U12 600m, 14^th overall and also ran in the 60m and was just outside the qualifying time for the semi-final.

Lucy Kelleher also ran in the U12 600m, coming 8^th in her heat and 44^th overall. She also took part in the long jump finishing 37^th.

An honourable mention also goes to Caoimhe Bourke who represents Newport AC, but lives and trains in Youghal who came 5^th overall in the U13 600m and 11^th overall in the 60m.
