The county B XC took place in Carrignavar on Sunday 16th October. The torrential rain overnight left conditions very wet and mucky underfoot, but we were lucky that the rain held off for most of the races.

Taylor Aherne got the day off to a wonderful start by winning the U9girls race, followed by Autumn Devereaux a super 4th and Amy Coleman 17th. The team finished third overall.

Finn Coleman led the U9 boys team home finishing a brilliant 4th overall. He was followed by Keelan Ansbro (minus a shoe) in 9th , Jack ONeill 18th and Noah Bates 30th. Great running by the boys to win team gold .

The U11 girls were up next with Clodagh Fitzgerald finishing 11th overall followed by Phil Farrell 34th and Ellie Walsh 40th. Unfortunately Aoibhinn O Brien had to retire due to injury.

Ben Walsh had a fantastic run in the U11 boys race to finish 2nd , closely followed by Jude Buckley 4th and Ethan O Driscoll 8th . Unfortunately they were short one scorer for a team , a big disappointment after such outstanding performances by the boys.

Rion Walsh had a brilliant run in the U13 girls race to finish 3rd overall . She was followed by Natasha Kilgannon 37th.

Rory Motherway led the U13 Youghal boys home to finish 5th overall. Charlie O Neill was next home in 12th position followed closely by Nathan O Halloran 17th, Ross Williams 18th and Christian Millerick 19th. Well done to the boys who won team gold medals.

Lesley Cashman held off the competition in the U15 girls race to win the County B title. Kerry Barrett also had a super sprint finish to take the last individual medal in 6th place. Ben Terry had a great run in the U15 boys race to finish 14th overall.

Aine O Regan had a super run to finish 2nd in the U17 girls race with Sarah Williams finishing in 5th place .

Well done to all who competed.
