Munster Unevenage XC 12-Nov-2017

The Munster unevenage XC was held on Sunday 12th November in Galbally , Co. Tipperary. The overnight rain had left the ground fairly wet and mucky but the tough conditions didn’t hinder the performances of the YOUGHAL AC athletes.

Our U9 girls started the days races with super performances by Niamh Murray and Aine Collins who finished 46th and 75th respectively.

Donnacha Coleman led the U9boys team home with a great run to finish 26th overall. Mathew Murray was next in 29th position , closely followed by Darragh Murray 39th . Conor O Sullivan completed the team.

Vivien Millerick had a super run in the U11 girls race to finish 39th overall. Taylor Aherne was next home in 47th position followed by Autumn Devereaux 82nd . Clodagh Fitzgerald completed the team. Drew Kenny was the only Youghal athlete to compete in the U11 boys race and finished well in 71st position.

Alex Cashman had a fantastic run in the U13 girls 2500m race. She finished 9th overall , winning an individual Munster medal and was the 4th scorer on the winning Cork team. Sorcha Kilgannon was next home in 34th position , with Eireann Barrett 58th and Grace Rooney 81st. Poppi Devereaux and Ciara Wood completed the team.

Charlie O Neill was the only Youghal competitor in the U 13 boys race and finished well in 49th position.

Emma Landers had a super performance in the U15 girls 3500m race to finish 4th overall. She was followed closely by Avril Cashman 10th and Erin Joyce 12th. These three won individual Munster medals and were all scorers on the winning Cork team. Eva Murphy had a great run to finish 24th , with a Robyn Buckley 34th. Natasha Kilgannon completed this super team that won club team gold.

Ciaran McNamee competed in the U15 boys race and finished 16th overall. He was the 1st scorer for the Cork team which took bronze.

Lucy O Keeffe had an outstanding run in the U17 girls 4000m race to lead the field from the 2000m mark and take the Munster title. She was the 1st scorer for the winning Cork team. Lesley Cashman also ran well to finish 22nd overall and qualified for the National XC by finishing 7th on the Cork team. Kerry Barrett had a great run to finish 44th overall.

Jake McCarthy had a fantastic run in the U17 boys race to finish 3th overall and was the 2nd scorer on the winning Cork team.

Aine O Regan had a great run in the U19 girls race.

Simon Upton had a super run in the U19 boys race to finish 11th overall. Killian Nolan followed in 14th position . Both scoring for the winning Cork team.
