Hello to all from Youghal AC. Well the bulk of the road races are now over for this season and we had a very successful year in the Youghal Club with many of our men and women winning many prizes and well done to all. It is great to see all the new members who have joined the club during the past year and how they have improved their times. Training will continue during the next few months and we have the famous winter league to look forward to in November. We are also handing out maps for the lady runners who got lost recently around the Gortroe area maybe you should stay to the circuits around town!

The cross country season has also begun today and we had a few men’s and women’s teams competing in the East Cork championship, I will have the results for our next update. I would encourage people to compete in the cross country season as it is great fun in the mud.

It is also great to see all the men and women training for the upcoming Dublin City marathon they are all going through their heavy period at the moment with distances of up to 18 to 22 miles. If you see any of them on the road give them a beep and encourage them along. We also had a few runners in the recent Cork Half Marathon in Blarney and well done on the results.

We have the Cork to Cobh race coming up soon and as usual there will be plenty of Youghal athletes in the race. We also have a local Duathlon taking place on Sunday 30th September with athletes doing two 5k runs, please come along and support.

New jerseys are also available from Rickki and anyone looking for club tracksuits contacts Mossie Cahill, Frank Morrision or George Bulman.
