County Even Age XC 07-Oct-2018

The County even age XC was held near Macroon on Sunday 7th October . Ground conditions were good on the day but the strong wind and undulating course made it very tough for our athletes.
Our U10 girls were up first in their 1000m race. Clodagh Walsh had a super run to finish 15th overall , leading the Youghal girls home . She was closely followed by Aine Collins 31st , Niamh Murray 40th and Orla Motherway 41st. Doireann Barry, Pearl Phipps, Lauren Keating and Tess Cummins completed this team.
In the U10 boys race Donnacha Coleman has a great run to finish 9th overall , closely followed by Ruby Devereaux 15th, Leo Nicholson 40th and Tadgh O Brien 44th. Quin Buckley, James O Brien and Enda Terry completed this team.
Taylor Aherne led the Youghal U12 girls finishing well in 12th position. Autumn Devereaux 14th and Vivien Millerick 15th also put in great performances. Carolina Kadlikova , Clodagh Fitzgerald, Emily Barry and Amy Coleman completed this team which finished 4th overall.
In the U12 boys race Jimmy Nicholson had a super run to finish 13th overall . He was closely followed by Dylan Cairns 22nd and Andrew Brenner 24th.
The U14 girls ran 3k and were led home by Avril Millerick 10th , Emily Brenner 12th and Alex Cashman 13th . Sorcha Kilgannon had a great run to finish 22nd followed by Ruby Kennedy, Izabella Chidlow, Katie Ansbro and Alice Barry. These super performances secured team bronze for the Youghal girls.
Jude Buckley was the only Youghal athlete to complete the U14 boys 3k and finished well in 29th position. Ronin Joyce had to retire due to injury.
Emma Landers had a fantastic run in the U16 girls 4K race to take the county title. She was followed closely by Avril Cashman who took bronze. Erin Joyce finished well in 8th position , with Eva Murphy 9th. Robyn Buckley and Rion Walsh finished 13th and 14th respectively , with Natasha Kikgannon completing this super team which took gold.
Ciaran McNamee finished 4th in the U16 boys race , followed by Eoin Brenner 19th.
Lucy O Keeffe had an impressive win in the U18 girls race to take the County title. Lesley Cashman finished 15th overall.
Conor O Neill battled hard in the U18 boys race to take bronze , with Ben Terry finishing 12th.
