East Cork Cross Country Championships Even Ages - 21st September 2014

IMOKILLY OIL EAST CORK CROSS-COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS
The first day of the East Cork Cross Country Championships were held in Castlelyons on Sunday 21st September for the even ages. The course was excellent and weather conditions were also glorious. Youghal AC had seven teams in action all of whom secured medals and also individuals.
Girls U10 – 1000m
This team won first place and included Avril Millerick 2nd, Alex Cashman 3rd, Grace Rooney 4th, Sophie Connon 7th, Erin Barrett 11th, Juliette Nicholson 16th, Tara Hickey 17th, Poppy Devereaux 19th, Jayne Savage 22nd and Katie Ansboro 29th. There was a thrilling finish with Alex, Avril and Grace all finishing very closely. Great scoring girls!
Boys U10 – 1000m
This team won the bronze medals and included Liam O’ Connor 5th, Charlie O’ Neill 9th, Paddy Nicholson 20th, Eoghan Rooney 24th and Ronan Joyce 28th. Well done especially to newcomers Paddy and Ronan!
Girls U12 – 1500m
The team won first prize and included Emma Landers 2nd, Avril Cashman 5th, Rion Walsh 8th, Eva Murphy 9th, Robyn Buckley 11th, Erin Joyce 15th and Hazel Nolan 23rd. Again there was very good scoring in this race.
Boys u12 – 1500m
The team won silver medals and the team was led home by Ciaran McNamee 2nd and was followed by Christian Millerick 7th, Eoin Fitzgerald 10th and Ross Williams 13th. Well done lads!
Girls U14 – 2000m
This team also won first place. A great race was had by Kerrie Barrett and Lucy O’ Keefe who battled it out and came in close contention to win with Kerrie edging in to take title. Great scoring was also achieved by Leslie Cashman 8th, Eabha Walsh 10th and Tirna Cahill 13th. Well done!
Boys U14 – 2000m
This team won silver medals. Jake McCarthy ran very well to take 2nd place and was followed by Dean Savage 6th and Dylan Lucey 8th both of whom also ran well.
Boys U16 – 3000m
Killian Nolan ran a strong race battling it out at the the front of the field from the start and finished in a strong 2nd place. Rory Donnellan finished well in 6th place as did James Wall in 8th place. Well done lads as they also won silver medals.
Girls U18 – 3000m
Well done to Jennifer Hennessy who won the U18 race.
