County Uneven Age XC 14-Oct-2018

The County uneven age XC was held in Carrig na bhfearr on Sunday 14th Oct. The sun was shining throughout the day making it a super day for spectators but a little hot for athletes.

Our U9girls started the day off well by taking team Bronze medals. Clodagh Walsh had a super performance finishing 4th overall and getting an individual county medal. Orla Motherway was next with a great 9th position finish. Caoimhe Brennan 36th and Jane Ansbro 46th completed scoring for this great team.

Ruby Devereaux had a fantastic run in the U9 boys race taking individual bronze. Oran Coleman 19th , SHANE Coffey 39th, Ciaran Hynes 45th followed closely behind. Diarmaid Russell and Christopher Cotter completed this team.

In the U11 girls 1500m Taylor Aherne led the Youghal girls home finishing 6th and winning an individual county medal. Vivien Millerick 15th, Autumn Devereaux 16th and Carolina Kadlikova 19th completed scoring to take team gold. Emily Barry, Lilly Cooney, Niamh Murray, Katie Ates, Doireann Barry, Amy Coleman, Lauren Keating and Tess Cummins completed this great team.

In the U11 boys race Finn Coleman led the Youghal boys home finishing 12th overall. He was closely followed by James Nicholson 14th ,Donnacha Coleman 21st and Jack O Neill 50th. Tadhg O Brien, Quin Buckley, Finn Connaughtan , James O Brien, Cathal Brennan, Leo Nicholson and Conor O Sullivan completed this team which took team bronze.

Emily Brenner had an outstanding performance in the U13 girls race to take individual bronze. She was followed by Sorcha Kilgannon 11th, Izabella Chidlow 23rd and Poppi Devereaux 33rd. Katie Ansbro 34th , Ruby Kennedy 35th and Alize Barry 47th completed this team which finished 4th.

Dylan Cairns 23rd led the U13 boys home. He was followed by Jude Buckley 35th , Jonah Connaughtan 56th and Ronin Joyce 62nd.

Charlie O Neill competed well in the U15 boys 3500m race to finish 24th.

Emma Landers had a brilliant run in the U15 girls race to take the county title. She was followed closely by Avril Cashman 5th who also won an individual county medal. Alex Cashman had a great run to finish 7th closely followed by Eva Murphy 10th and Robyn Buckley 13th. Erin Joyce finish 16th despite a knee injury and Rion Walsh finished well in 20th position. Natasha Kilgannon completed this super team which took team gold.

Lucy O Keeffe had a super run in the U17 girls 4000m race. She led from the start and finished comfortably to take the county title. Lesley Cashman finished 11th.

Ciaran McNamee finished 10th in the U17 boys race closely followed by Conor O Neill 13th and. Eoin Brenner 21st.

Simon Upton competed well in the Junior men’s race.
