The East Cork T& F was held on Sunday 29th April in Youghal. Despite all the rain, underfoot conditions were quite good in Tower Park and the sun shone for the entire competition.
Our U9 girls competed in the turbo javelin and 200m . Caoimhe Brennan won the 200m with Orla Motherway taking bronze. Clodagh Walsh finished a fantastic 5th. Ruby Devereaux, Odhran Coleman, Ciaran Hynes and Shane Tutty competed in the U9boys events.
The U10girls competed in the long jump and 200m . Aine Collins 4th led the Youghal girls in the 200m followed by Doireann Barry Kate Finn and Pearl Phipps. Donnacha Coleman, Leo Nicholson, Conor O Sullivan , Fionn Breathnach and Quin Buckley competed in the U10 boys events.
Taylor Aherne took bronze in the U11 girls 600m , followed closely by Autumn Devereaux 4th and Emily Barry . Our U11 boys were outstanding in the 600m race . Harry Fitzgerald led the boys home to win gold , closely followed by Finn Coleman 2nd and Finn Connaughtan 3rd. Keelan Ansbro was 5th , jimmy Nicholson 6th and Conor Coffey 7th.
Clodagh Fitzgerald took bronze in the U12 girls 800m with Ella Finn 6th. Paddy Nicholson took silver in the U12 boys 800m with Fionn Brennan 8th. They also competed well in the shot.
The U13 girls competed well in the 800m with Sorcha Kilgannon finishing 4th closely followed by Poppi Devereaux , Eireann Barrett, Ruby Kennedy, Katie Ansbro and Ciara Wood. Jude Buckley finished well in 5th in the U13 boys 800m followed by Lui Phipps. They all competed well in the high jump too.
In the U14 girls events Avril Millerick had a super 1500m race to take gold. Grace Rooney took gold in the 200m race and silver in the U15 long jump.
Emma Landers won the U15 girls 1500m with Natasha Kilgannon taking bronze.
In the U17-19 events Lucy O Keeffe took silver in the 200m. Lesley Cashman took bronze in the 1500m and silver in the long jump. Jake McCarthy took silver in the 1500m with Conor O Neill 3rd and Simon Upton 4th. Simon took bronze in the 200m with Cian Nicholson 4th.
