Munster Even Age XC 20-Oct-2019

The Munster even age XC was held at Limerick racecourse on Sunday 20th October. YOUGHAL AC had a great turn out of athletes on the day with some great performances. Underfoot conditions were horrendous on the day with mud everywhere.

In the U 10 girls 1000m Clodagh Walsh finished a super 14th overall . Orla Motherway was next in 62nd position, closely followed by Ava Murphy 88t and Caoimhe Brennan 96th. Nesa Barry , Megan Spillane, Isabella Daly and Jane Ansbro completed this strong team.

Ruby Devereaux lead the U10 Youghal boys to finish a fantastic 10th overall , winning an individual Munster medal, and a gold cork team medal. Oran Coleman was 51st , followed by Paddy Kelly 73rd , Cartach O Laoire 99th and Rory Murphy 100th. Ciaran Hynes, Darragh Galloway and Shane Coffee completed this great team.

Autumn Devereaux put in a great performance in the U12 girls 2000m race to finish 15th overall , winning a cork team silver medal . Vivien Millerick finished well in 29th position ,followed by Taylor Aherne 57th and Aine Collins 95th. Katie Ates , Doireann Barry and Tess Cummins completed this great team. Donnacha Coleman , Quin Buckley and Conor o Sullivan put in strong performances in the U12 boys race.

In the U14 girls 3000m Emily Brenner had a fantastic run to finish 7th overall, winning an individual Munster medal and a gold cork team medal. Sorcha Kilgannon also had a super run to finish 14th overall. Katie O Neill followed in 33rd position ,with Izabella Chidlow finishing 55th. Katie Ansbro, Saorla Ni Laoire and Alise Barry completed this great team. Jude Buckley 47th and Rian O Laoire competed well in the U14 boys race.

Emma Landers had an outstanding run to win comfortably and take the Munster U16 girls title . Avril Millerick also had a super run to finish 2nd overall followed closely by the Cashman girls , Avril 8th and Alex 10th . All 4 winning individual Munster medals and scoring for their county, to win Cork team gold medals. Robyn Buckley , Eva Murphy , Erin Joyce and Natasha Kilgannon completed this super team which won team gold too.

James O Neill competed well in the U16 boys 4000m race and Connor O Neill competed well in the U18 boys race.

In the U18 girls 4000m race Lucy O Keeffe had a fantastic run to finish 4th overall winning an individual Munster medal in addition to a gold cork team medal.

Well done to all who competed. Congrats to the 5 individuals (Autumn, Emily, Sorcha, Lucy and Connor ) and also the U16 team (Emma, Avril M, Avril C, Alex , Robyn and Eva) who qualified for the National XC to be held in Abbotstown in November.
