Well done to Youghal AC athletes Killian Nolan, Eoin O’ Brien and Fearghal Curtin who all qualified and competed in the All Ireland School’s Cross Country Championships at the Cit on 8th March.

The course was very difficult with hills and waterlogged and mucky ground conditions. Killian Nolan who has only been back training after missing the club cross country season had a very strong race to finish in 36th place in the Minor Boy’s 2,500 race. Eoin O’ Brien recovering from flu finished in 86th place in the Junior boy’s race and his Midleton CBS team finished outside the medals. Eoin was also young in this Junior 3,500m race. Fearghal Curtin in his first year in the Intermediate section ran a good race despite feeling unwell. He was in 2nd place for the first two laps but could not hold this position and fell back to 7th place just one place outside the individual medals, Nevertheless he qualified for the Irish school’s team as the first eight were selected to run in Manchester on 23rd March. Well done! More photos available at www.youghalac.com/photos
