Youghal AC Pro Notes - 17th July 2014

Carrigtwohill 5K

There was a massive turnout of 612 runners for last nights Carrigtwohill 5K. This is always a very well organised race and this year was no different.The race was won by local Cloyne man Michael Harty of East Cork AC in a time of 15:17.Michael has had a great season and we are delighted to see him taking a well deserved 1st place position,we wish him continued success.

The first juvenile home and also first Youghal man was our own Killian Nolan of Youghal AC in a time of 18:47....Well done Killian.We had 4 juvenile runners who took part last night and its great to see this talent coming up. The remaining were Dean Savage,Kate Savage and Faith Mc Kevitt

We had 17 runners taking part and also worth noting we had more women runners from the club than men,which is great to see, hopefully this trend will continue and grow.Well done to all,a few new PB's and also some new competition which is always great to see.

Upcoming Weekend

This weekend coming is an action packed weekend with lots happening at home and abroad. We want to wish the best of luck to everyone taking part.

We will have Fearghal Curtin taking part in the SIAB schools competition representing Ireland in Cardiff on Saturday.His sister Trisha Curtin and Barry Healy will be competing in the Glo Health Senior Track and field in Santry. Ken Harney is running in the half Ultra marathon in Courtmacsherry and Tomas Ward and Finbar Kingston are running the Killarney half marathon on Saturday.If anyone else is competing just let us know and best of luck again to all.
