The club had two boys who participated in their first Indoor Championships on Nenagh in the U/12 age group on 25th and 26th February last. Peter Buckley took part in the Shot Putt and Long Jump competitions on the 25th finishing just outside the first eight. Ryan McCarthy took part in the 60m heat on 26th and narrowly missed out on qualification for the semi-final.
The club had five athletes in action in Nenagh on the 3rd and 4th March. Sean Broderick was very unlucky in the B/14 Long Jump but he had a great win in the 60m heat and went on to take third place in the 60m final in a time of 8.33. This was a very good achievement for Sean. Diarmuid Clancy finished 5th in the B/14 800m in a time of 2.27.62 and was unlucky in the High Jump to finish just outside the medals in 4th with a very good jump of 1.40m.
Cian Greene, Jack Daly and Daniel Smiddy took part in the 60m heats in the U/17 age group. Cian and Jack qualifed for the final and Daniel narrowly missed out. It was fantastic to have two from the club in such a final. Cian Greene sprinted superbly to win the Munster title in a time of 7.36 which is his second Munster indoor title consecutive title as he won the U/16 title last year. Jack finished in a very good 6th position in a time of 7.71 and again this is Jack's first time participating in the indoors. Cian went on to win a bronze medal in the Long Jump with his jump of 5.81m where a Munster record was broken in the same competition. Jack Daly also went on to win the silver medal in the Shot Putt competition with a very good throw of 11.35m.
Lauren O' Mahoney did very well in the G/16 Shot coming 3rd with a super throw of 8.84m. It is a great achievement to see Sean Broderick, Diarmuid Clancy, Jack Daly, Cian Greene and Lauren O' Mahoney all qualify for the All Ireland Indoor Championships.
