We had a very successful month of March on the roads and pride of place to our O.40 team who were crowned Munster Road Race Champions in Waterford on the 25/03/2012. This is a first for the club and well done to the team of John Malone, Marty O’Keeffe, Noel Curtin and Martin O’Brien. The competition was tough and Youghal beat a much fancied East Cork team who were going for the fifth title in a row. We also had an O.50 team competing as well and they finished in 6th place. Other successes in the road race championship were in the O.40 section with John Malone finishing third and Marty O’Keeffe finishing fourth, with both athletes also on the winning Cork team. Noel Curtin Finishing fourth in the O.45 Category and Willie O’Mahony was second in theO.65 category. Photos available www.youghalac.com/photos
Good luck to any of our athletes heading for Kilnaboy in County Clare for the last of the 10mile spring classic races on Easter Sunday.Anyone looking for club tracksuits contact either Mossie Cahill, Frank Morrision or George Bulman. We also have the March Athlete of the month award and this month’s recipient is a man who is coming back after a long injury layoff and who has featured in all or our recent successes, the March winner is Noel Curtin.
