The evenage County XC championship was held in Liscarroll on Sun 6th Oct. YOUGHAL AC had many athletes competing on the day.

Our U10 girls started the day with some great runs by Clodagh Walsh 8th , Orla Motherway 8th, Neasa Barry 51st and Ava Murphy 57th.

Ruby Devereaux had a super run to finish 6th overall and win an individual medal. He also led his team of Oran Coleman 18th, Ciaran Hynes 31st, Paddy Kelly 46th, Rory Murphy 56th and Shane Coffee 60th to team bronze medals.

Autumn Devereaux led the YOUGHAL U14 girls on the 2000m route to finish 12th overall. Vivien Millerick 17th followed closely , with Aine Collins 33rd and Niamh Murray 73rd. Lauren O Brien, Amy Coleman, Molly O Brien and Tess Cummins completed this great team.

In the U12 boys 2000m Finn Coleman finished 18th closely followed by Donnacha Coleman 38th, Jack O Neill 41s and Conor O Sullivan 47th . Leo Nicholson, Quin Buckley and Rory Walsh completed this great team.

Emily Brenner had an outstanding performance in the U14girls 3000m race to finish 5th overall and win an individual county medal. Sorcha Kilgannon followed closely in 7th position ,with Katie O Neill 10th . Izabella Chidlow finished 17th , followed by Ailise Barry 21st and Katie Ansbro 28th. These super runs secured bronze for this fantastic team.

Jude Buckley had a great run in the U14 boys race to finish 13th overall. Dylan Cairns followed in 22nd position.

Emma Landers led the YOUGHAL U16 girls team home to finish 2nd overall , closely followed by Avril Millerick 3rd and Avril Cashman 6th . All 3 girls winning individual medals. Alex Cashman was next in 9th position , followed by Eva Murphy 19th and Robyn Buckley 20th. Erin Joyce and Natasha Kilgannon completed this super team which took team gold.

Lucy O Keeffe had a super run in the U18and junior girls races to lead the field over the 4000m course and take both titles.

Ciaran McNamee and Jake McCarthy had to retired due to injury in the U18 and junior boys races.
