Munster Uneven Age XC 11-Nov-2018

The Munster Uneven age XC was held on Sunday 11th November at Twomile borris , Co.Tipperary. Youghal Ac had 46 athletes competing on the day , with many outstanding performances. Despite the wind and rain, ground conditions were relatively good.
Our U9 girls were up first in their 750m race. Clodagh Walsh led the Youghal girls home, followed closely by Orla Motherway, Caoimhe Brennan and Jane Ansbro.
In the U9 boys race Ruby Devereaux stormed home to finish 8th overall , winning an individual Munster medal and a county gold medal . He also took club bronze with his team mates ,Ciaran Hynes, Oran Coleman, Cartach O Laoire, Jamie Coleman and Shane Coffey who all put in super performances.
Taylor Aherne had a great run in the U11 girls 1500m race to finish 5th overall, winning an individual Munster medal and gold county team medal. Vivien Millerick followed closely in 10th position , also winning an individual Munster medal. Autumn Devereaux had a great run to finish 21st , followed by Karolina Kadlikova 67th . Tess Cummins completed this super team that won team gold medals and qualified for the National Uneven age XC in December.
Donnacha Coleman led the U11 boys home closely followed by Finn Coleman and Finn Connaughtan. Jack O Neill , Conor O Sullivan, Leo Nicholson and Quin Buckley completed this strong team.
In the U13 girls 2500m race Emily Brenner had a great run to finish 15th overall. She was closely followed by Sorcha Kilgannon 29th , Izabella Chidlow 63rd and Katie Ansbro 66th. Poppi Devereaux , Ruby Kennedy and Saorla Ni Laoire competed this team.
Jude Buckley and Rion O Laoire competed well in the U13 boys race.
Emma Landers had an outstanding run in the U15 girls 3500m race to take the Munster title . She was followed closely by Avril Cashman 9th . Both girls winning individual Munster medals and Cork team gold medals. Avril Millerick 14th, Alex Cashman 15th and Erin Joyce 16th followed in close succession , with Eva Murphy, Robyn Buckley , Rion Walsh and Natasha Kilgannon completing this fantastic team which won club team gold .
Charlie O Neill competed well in the U15 boys race.
In the U17 girls 4000m race Lucy O Keeffe finished a super 4th winning an individual Munster medal and leading the Cork team to county gold. Lesley Cashman finished in 32nd position.
Conor O Neill had a great run in the U17 boys race finishing 8th overall , winning an individual Munster medal and a county team gold medal. Ciaran McNamee had to retire due to injury.
Jake McCarthy finished well in 8th position in the U19 boys race, winning an individual Munster medal and a county gold team medal.
Well done to all who competed and congrats to the 2 teams and 3 individuals who qualified for the National Uneven age XC in December.
