Youghal AC entered two teams in the first division of the Woodies DIY National League on 10th June last. This was a first time for the club as some of our athletes have guested for various clubs over the years. A lot of work went into the preparation and the compilation of the panel but it was very worth while as a very enjoyable day of competition was had by all athletes at round one in Athlone. Many thanks to our guests who put in superb performances and included Aideen Hallahan (Midleton AC), Aileen Hurley (Gr. There was also another lot of teams competing in Division one in Antrim on 10th June. After combining results of both venues the ladies team is lying in joint 5th with 91 points which is an excellent result for the ladies. The men's team in lying in 11th place but there is very little in point difference between teams. The second round is on 22nd July and there will be more on the men's panel as some of our athletes had exams to contend with in June. The aim is to get into the top eight teams after two rounds as there is a final in August. Best of luck to all athletes for the next day and of course to our juveniles who have their Munsters next weekend in Cork.
