Juvenile East Cork XC 23-Sep-2018

With blue skies and firm ground, conditions were perfect for the start of the XC season which began with the East Cork XC in Ballynoe on Sunday 23rd Sept. There was a great turn out of young athletes from YOUGHAL AC on the day.
Aine Collins had a great run in the U10 girls 1000m race to finish 5th overall. She was closely followed by Clodagh Walsh 7th , Lauren O Brien 9th and Orla Motherway 10th. Kate Finn, Caoimhe Brennan, Niamh Murray , Pearl Phipps, Lauren Keating and Tess Cummins completed this great team which won team silver.
Ruby Devereaux had a super run in the U10 boys race to finish 4th overall closely followed by Donnacha Coleman 5th . Tadhg O Brien, Isaac McMahon, Ciaran Hynes, Odhran Coleman, Shane Coffey, Leo Nicholson, Christopher Cotter, Conor O Sullivan, Enda Terry and Quin Buckley completed this strong team which also took silver.
In the U12 girls 1500m race Taylor Aherne took individual bronze closely followed by Vivien Millerick 5th and Karolina Kadlocova 7th. Clodagh Fitzgerald, Katie Ates and Amy Coleman completed this great team which won silver.
Paddy Nicholson had a super finish to take individual bronze in the U12 boys race. Followed by Dylan Cairns 5th Finn Coleman 6th and Jimmy Nicholson 7th to secure team gold. Fiona Brennan , Harry Fitzgerald , Alex Swayne Curran, Cathal Brennan, Jack O Neill and Finn Connaughtan completed this strong team.
Avril Millerick lead the YOUGHAL girls home in the U14 girls race and took individual bronze. She was followed by Alex Cashman 6th , Emily Brennar 7th and Sorcha Kilgannon 8th. Izabella Chidlow, Grace Rooney, Ruby Kennedy, Katie Ansbro and Eireann Barrett completed this team which won gold.
Charlie O Neill finished well in 8th position in the U14 boys race. He was followed closely by Jude Buckley 11th.
Emma Landers led the U16 girls home , closely followed by Avril Cashman 2nd and Robyn Buckley 3rd . Erin Joyce finished 4th and Eva Murphy 5th . Natasha Kikgannon completed this super team which undoubtedly took gold.
Ciaran McNamee took individual gold in the U16 boys race Eoin Brennar also competed well.
