County B XC Championship 15-Oct-2017

The County B XC championship was held on Sunday 15th October , on a wet , muddy course in Carrignavar . The tough conditions however didn't dampen the spirits of the Youghal athletes who performed well on the day.
Our U9 girls got things off to a great start with Aine Collins leading the Youghal girl home with a super run to finish 6th and win an individual medal. Kate Rose Finn followed closely in 8th position , with Niamh Murray 13th , Rosie O Donovan 28th and Lauren Keating 29th. With such brilliant performances, the girls won silver team medals.
Donnacha Coleman had a great run in the U9 boys race to finish 5th and win an individual medal. Darragh Murray was next in 16th position, followed by Leo Nicholson 18th and Conor O Sullivan 19th. Quin Buckley, Enda Terry and James Chidlow completed the team which took club bronze medals.
In the U11 girls race Taylor Aherne led the Youghal girls with a super run to finish 3rd and win an individual medal. Autumn Devereaux finished in 14th position followed by Ella Marie Finn 26th and Aoibhinn O Brien 47th. The girls were unlucky to loose out on bronze team medals .
The U11 boys took team silver medals with great performances by all the Youghal boys. Drew Kenny finished 8th , followed by Finn Coleman 10th , Paddy Nicholson 11th and Jimmy Nicholson 28th. Jack O Neill and Keelan Ansbro completed the team.
Grace Rooney led the U13girls home with a great run to finish 10th overall. Poppi Devereaux was next in 15th position , with Izabella Chidlow 16th and Ruby Kennedy 22nd. Katie Ansbro, Ciara Wood and Eimear Flanagan completed the team that won team bronze medals.
Charlie O Neill had a great run in the U13 boys race to finish 7th overall.
Ross Williams also performed well in the U15 boys race to finish in 12th position.
Cian Nicholson and Ben Terry had super runs in the U17boys race to finish 4th and 5th respectively , both winning individual medals.
