Post date: Nov 20, 2014 1:2:53 PM

Day two of the East Cork Cross Country Championships were held in Carrignavar on 16th November. There was a good turnout from the club and indeed this was the last race for some of our athletes this season.

The club had wins with the U9, U11 Girls teams and the U15 boys team. Well done also to the parents/coaches who helped to warm up and organise teams. Thanks to Gillian Wall and Celia O’ Regan who gave so much time in compiling the results for Youghal AC and the East Cork Board at the finish line. Congratulations to the ladies and men’s teams who both won bronze medals in the Senior race after the juvenile programme.

Girls U9

These girls ran brilliantly yesterday to win the first team prize. Eireann Barrett stormed in to take 3rd individual medal. She was closely followed by Aoibhe Daly on 5th, Poppy Devereaux in 7th, Ruby Kennedy in 11th and Katie Ansboro in 11th. This was great team scoring and the girls showed great form.

Boys U9

This team also did very well winning silver medals. The lads ran very well and huge improvement by all athletes. Ben Walsh won the race well and he was followed by Daniel Nolan in in 6th, Jude Buckley in 11th and Ronan Joyce in 17th. Well done lads!

Well done to Sarah Williams who finished 9th and to Tirna Cahill 10th.

Boys U15

The lads had a good win. They drew with Carrignavar on 25 points but on count back Youghal won the first team, thanks to Dylan Lucey. All athletes ran very well with. Simon Upton had a very strong finish in the last 200m to come form 4th to 2nd place. Dean Savage finished strongly in 6th, James Wall in 8th and Dylan Lucey in 9th.
