20250601 – Cork City Marathon
In general, blue skies and sunshine were the order of the day for this year’s Cork City Marathon event with full marathon, half-marathon and 10k taking place on Sunday 01st June 2025. Mixed with a little scatter of rain in part and a healthy breeze at times meant the runners were treated to good running conditions.
There were 10 athletes from Youghal AC who completed the Full Marathon, 6 took to the start line in the Half Marathon and 3 took part in the 10km - well done to all.
Massive shout out to Fearghal Curtin, who was first over the line in the 10km, in a course record 29:46.
Condolences to the family of Ellen Cassidy, who tragically passed away after the 1/2 marathon event
Steven’s result is omitted from the photo. He ran a fantastic first marathon in 3:22:28.

There was a decent turnout on both days with some great performances all around. Thanks to coaches Dee and Antoinette for giving up their time to look after out athletes over the course of the weekend, and to the parents who travelled.
The Mile Marker 5 mile, to raise funds for St. Michaels NS, in Danesfort, Co. Kilkenny was held last Sunday morning 08th June 2025. One solitary Youghal AC athlete made the north eastwards journey, and Keith Kelly made it count, coming home third overall in a time of 27:21. Well done Keith

News just in from the Munster Track & Field Championships at MTU, and Ruby Devereaux has done it again. This young man’s upward trajectory is gaining momentum. Leading from pillar to post, Ruby came home in front in a magnificent time of 9 minutes and 7 seconds, missing out on the Munster Record by a mere two seconds

New Championship Record
28th June 2025
Our very own Ruby Devereaux of Youghal A.C. has rewritten the record books in the U16 Boys 3000m, clocking a blistering 8:53.86 to break the Championship Record, on Day 1 of the Juvenile Track & Field Championships
He takes down the previous mark of 9:00.08, set by Charlie O’Neill (Donore Harriers A.C.) in 2024.
A fantastic achievement from a wonderful young lad who is a great role model to our juvenile athletes. This achievement is so well deserved. We are very proud of you Ruby. Enjoy the celebrations.
