Youghal Athletic Club Latest News
Well done to the 61 strong contingent of Youghal AC athletes, who made the short journey to Dungarvan on Sunday morning for the ever-popular John Treacy 10m road race. Conditions were pretty much ideal for the race with mild dry weather, and there were almost 3,000 finishers.
Special mention to Sylvie O’ Mahony, who was first M70 on the day – fantastic running in his new age category . Well done to Isaac Landers who was second junior male, and to Sorcha Kilgannon, who was third junior female, and to everyone who was wearing the Youghal AC singlet for the first time, incl. Adam Quirke & Jonathan Ormond, and to those completing the 10-mile distance for the first time. PB’s for some of our members too - notably Maurice Walsh, Ted Kelly, Laura Keane, Connor Goulding, Kelly O’ Mahony, Eva Murphy and Susan O’ Sullivan to name a few.
Welcome back to running to Shane Greene who has been out injured since the 2024 Dublin Marathon, and Congratulations to Ciaran Mitchell and Shannon Sotok who ran side by side after Shannon announced she was almost 4-months pregnant on their first baby – exciting times ahead
