Ruby Devereaux has done it again. See report below from Stephen (Rubys dad). Thank you Stephen for allowing us to share.
All Ireland schools cross country Belfast under 17 Ruby gets the Silver, well a beautiful course and a beautiful day for cross country. They headed out at a nice clip and our Lad settled in well looked very comfortable, it's amazing when you think comfortable but the speed these kids are moving at is unreal not for the faint hearted it was 5 k .Our lad had been training well and had a strong season of cross country under his belt he kept his composure and had a battle for second place with his fellow Ireland team mate who both fought to the end to get that second place home .It's not easy when you rock up to the line in races and you carry a lot of pressure on your shoulders your running for your school and your town or village ,nobody see s the sessions the long runs the sacrifice your body makes to get you to this point we had a conversation this morning about that pressure and I just said when you put your toe on the line just say to yourself I HAVE A JOB TO DO TODAY AND IM GOING TO GET IT DONE .we as a family are so proud of this kid ,his mother puts trojan work into him no rock is left unturned and his club Youghal Ac and the people of Youghal have taken him under their wing and support him in his quest to be the best he can be ,he's proud of where he comes from .So he,s off to Bangor Wales in a few weeks to represent his Country again to wear the Irish Jersey and bring an amazing season to an end .Thank you Ruby you never cease to amaze us your a warrior 🏃♂️
