4th April 2026
East Cork T&F day one was held locally in tower park today. Congratulations to everyone one of our fabulous juvenile athletes who took part. We are very proud of each and every one of you. There was a huge medal haul for Youghal AC and all of our visitors thoroughly enjoyed the morning.
Huge thanks to all of the volunteers who helped make sure that the morning ran smoothly and a special thanks to our chairperson Dee for all the hard work she put in to making it so successful.

Well done to the Youghal AC crew who ran in the East Cork Road Championships in Ballynoe on Thursday evening. Special mention to our ladies team of Dee, Martina, Kate and Emer who secured the bronze team medal . Well done to you all.

On Sunday last, a fine Youghal AC crew travelled the short distance to Cobh to take part in the Sonia O Sullivan 10 mile road race. With ideal running conditions, everyone enjoyed the hilly course and came away with some great times.

Week Ending 19th April Round-Up
What a fantastic week and weekend of racing!
Firstly, well done to Brian O’ Connell, Connor Goulding (male captain), Darragh Martin, Stephen Kelleher and Trisha Hogan who travelled to Valencia over the weekend to take part in Ironman 70.3 – great performances from all of our athletes, who travelled as part of a large contingent of athletes from South Coast Tri Club
Next up, it was the turn of Anthony Sheehan, who took the trip across the pond to take part in the Manchester Marathon. He put in a solid performance yet again breaking the 4hr barrier, completing the 26.2-mile course in 3:56
Lastly, congratulations to Mary Flynn (2:05:49), Jonathan Ormond (2:15:45) Joanne & Des O’ Halloran (both 2:22:02) on their strong performances in the 25km Cork to Carrigaline Great Railway Run

The dust has settled on the latest running of the Ballintotis 4-mile road race, which once again doubled up as the Cork County Road Championship. As always, there was a big turnout for the race with 1197 runners crossing the finish line.
Ballintotis is always a very popular race for Youghal AC members, and we arrived in our droves, once again, to support the race, on a glorious Thursday evening. 49 fully fledged Youghal AC members, plus 23 of our Couch to 4-mile group toed the line on the night.
Well done to Sylvie O’ Mahony, who took second M70 on a great night of racing, the start of the summer evening races . Massive shout out to George Bulman, back in the green and white singlet and to all those who secured PB’s on the night
Huge shout out to our C24M group, who under the guidance of Ted Kelly, completed a 10-week training plan and conquered the four miles last night. Congratulations to you all, we can’t wait to see what you do next. We are all very proud of you.
BREAKING NEWS
Well done to our Masters Men M65+ team of Eddie O’ Regan, George Bulman and Sylvie O’ Mahony who won bronze county medals in Ballintotis 4 mile County Championship road race last Thursday evening
Not to be outdone by the men, our Masters Women F35+ team also secured bronze medals. Our runners on the night were Susan Dineen, Cliona O’ Keeffe, Kate McFarland, Marie O’ Rourke, Lisa Rochford, Deirdre O’ Reilly and Zara Kelly

Huge congratulations to Kieran Bennett on ticking another marathon box. Kieran is like Mr. Consistent when it comes to running marathons and smashed the London marathon today is a fantastic time of 3:49:13. Congratulations Kieran.
